16 days

- and the difference between life and death (I reckon) is what is between these images of before and after.

I know I've posted a lot about this girl recently but she has taken up a lot of my time. I'm thrilled at her progress and she is now firmly on a road of recovery and she is full of beans, courage and life-appetite. She promptly joins the bigger cats for meals and is not shy to tell me when I don't deliver it fast enough! (that's when she is having wet food - her absolute favorite). She has access to dry food all the time and eats very well and now drinks regularly, another yay! Only a few days ago she started preening herself rigorously - as if she felt she had a lot to catch up with.

She loves her toys - above she is clawing a toy mouse and she is at last having the energy to do what a little kitten should be doing... play, play and some more play (remember, she could barely walk from weakness the first day I spotted her!). It was only on day 12 she stopped sleeping and resting around the clock - imagine the sheer level of exhaustion she must have felt.

Anyhow... just another little report of her  splendid progress - it's truly delightful.

Amazing!
We just love the turnaround and it shows you so clearly how some love, nourishment and medical attention can be the difference of life and near to death as one could be. Bless you!

I am so happy to see such a great update!
Dearest Joan,

Wow, we just got back from a day shopping in Atlanta, filling up our pantry with health food... First thing I spotted on my sidebar was little Rosie so I had to read this first.
What great news. For the very first time ever she can play, she can be happy and sleep tight, eat and drink well. What a milestone for this little catgirl! And what a thrill it must be for you, after all you tried and went through. This gives hope.

Lots of love,

Mariette
Deb above summed up my feelings purrfectly...I couldn't have said it better.

This post brought me to tears, tears of joy!

Are you sure it is the same kitten (just kidding)? ;-) It reminds me of the "before and after" pictures in adverts, where people get a treatment that totally changes their look, and one wonders if it is actually true. But - I counted the stribes, and it surely IS Rosie - awesome and wonderful to watch and feel her satisfaction, and yours too. <3 :-))

Some might say that saving a kitten is nothing- this does not matter. Animals need all respect and care because they learn us something so very important about US. Without them we will truly be lost. Lost from our nature and the many faces of human instinct. Rosie is as much a sister as she is a cat. If only the whole world could be filled with transforming spaces like the ones you create, how completely Regenerated and New this World could be! This is awe inspiring and my heart beats faster, my breathing is deeper and I realise that knowing that you exist and what you do - heals me too and then does much more than I can express with words...

Oh Goodness, those are such great pictures and brought a huge smile to my face. That makes me so very happy and I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping her so much. Seeing her on top of that scratch post is just the best. Thank heavens you found her when you did. I am sending you a huge hug from all of us. Take care.

Dear Joan:
I'm so happy to see the positive change for this little girl just had in the past few weeks, and you made it possible! Certainly you have a great soul.
And I already made the swap card, took some pictures and it is on its way to UK, I hope my swap partner likes it. Thanks for let me know about this, I'm enjoying it so much.
Have a super wonderful day my friend, I send you a warm hug.
Love,
Laura =)

She looks wonderful! I volunteer for the humane society in my town and absolutely LOVE it! I get to cuddle with kitties and help find them new homes.

She is really starting to get some meat on those itty bitty bones of hers!! It's such a joy to see her blossom physically and emotionally. One of my favorite phrases is "Every single cat matters." I know we can't save them all, but we can save the ones we can, and rejoice that this little one is doing so much better now.

Hello! I haven't visited you before but came over from Catherine's blog. I've been reading your last few entries about Rosie and Rufus and it is so wonderful to see their progress...particularly dramatic in Rosie's case! We're following you now and look forward to reading all your adventures with kitties :-)
Now that looks more like a kitteh!

Get that scritching post, Rosie. Show it whose boss.
