<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pNRfwAIQ5F4/VM4dBT1uWwI/AAAAAAAAD-c/xMMMg-hEZNQ/s1600/sun17.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pNRfwAIQ5F4/VM4dBT1uWwI/AAAAAAAAD-c/xMMMg-hEZNQ/s1600/sun17.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Some evening back in early September of last year I was greeted by these little faces. It was the usual story of someone haven discarded them. Them were all completely tame. Unfortunately (at that point after four years of Greek cat rescue) with 40+ cats I simply didn't have the capacity to rescue these little guys off the street. I have lost count of how many kittens and young cats I've witnessed dying here. Either being run over, dying from a flu or respiratory infections, poisoning or otherwise vanishing into thin air. And no... believe me, people don't just pick kittens or cats off from the street here. No one wants to know of them! So this was not an easy situation for me. During the last couple of years I've actually learnt to cut off emotionally from new cats and especially kittens arriving here (those with a feral cat mamma). When you've had your fair share of being directly involved in the misery of seeing them die you have to cut off for the sake of self preservation. It has honestly left me so brokenhearted so many times. </span></div>
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kPeYUpoD0f4/VM4rgQPD8EI/AAAAAAAAD-4/xD5bLootipA/s1600/sun20.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kPeYUpoD0f4/VM4rgQPD8EI/AAAAAAAAD-4/xD5bLootipA/s1600/sun20.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">But... with these four I simply couldn't cut off. They were tame and so sweet. So once again I found myself caught up in praying and hoping each day for their safety and that they would all turn up each day when I came to feed them among the other cats living by the dumpster. Because I've witnessed so many young cats die here I knew I had to make an effort to try and get them all vaccinated... that would at least give them some chance of survival. So I raised the funds via donations and many kindhearted people chipped in to ensure they could have their double vaccinations and be treated for parasites. </span></div>
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Xk-dy9en1M4/VM4pPfKHOII/AAAAAAAAD-s/JiMhrx5YYC0/s1600/sun19.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Xk-dy9en1M4/VM4pPfKHOII/AAAAAAAAD-s/JiMhrx5YYC0/s1600/sun19.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">After four months of them living by the dumpster and surviving a very unusual Greek spell of a snowstorm and a windchill of down to -20 </span><span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">°C (I believe that's -4 F, they survived the cold by seeking shelter in these polystyrene boxes which I set up for them) I knew it was time to have them all spayed and neutered to avoid the misery of three girls having litters of kittens and the boy getting himself badly wounded because of fights (the stray males inflicts horrible wounds to each other). So once again, with the amazing kindness of some wonderful people, I collected the funds to have them all fixed. But I knew I had the biggest hurdle ahead of me. After them recovering with me at home - how was I going to be able to release them back in the field by the dumpster!?? In the image below, that's them recovering with me at home after them being spayed/neutered. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-g1IzNTAlMEw/VM4tjT2MgeI/AAAAAAAAD_E/vwZvy-JVmCY/s1600/day2-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-g1IzNTAlMEw/VM4tjT2MgeI/AAAAAAAAD_E/vwZvy-JVmCY/s1600/day2-2.jpg" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">After four months surviving on the street and in the wild they were as sweet and tame as it comes. It's tough accepting any cat having to make it in the wild on their own, but it's a different thing when you have four tame young cats that someone once lovingly cared for when they were small kittens and then discarded them when they thought they were old enough to fend for themselves! </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="color: #666666;">Well, I was amazingly lucky. My dear friend </span><a href="http://knatolee.blogspot.ca/"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">Natalie</span></a><span style="color: #666666;">, who recently adopted the three ginger girls (discarded by the exact same dumpster exactly one year earlier!) reached out to me and the four cats. She offered to foster them and help find new homes for them in Canada! We talked about helping each other posting about raising funds for them to be able to have their rabies shots, microchips, passports, transport boxes and their flight fare. Knowing the costs from before, we knew we would have to raise 1,500 euros or $1,700. BUT... Natalie's offer of helping didn't stop there. Her and her husband wowed to match each donated dollar with $1. An absolutely outstanding offer of generosity!! Right now a BIG fundraising is underway for these four and so far we've collected it the range of $570. We still have some way to go (and I would love for Natalie and her husband not to have to chip in - they've done so much already, and just read her blog and see the beautiful life they provide, not just for cats, but other rescue animals too) so I am asking if you would like to donate towards these four being able to start a new life in loving homes in Canada instead of being released back to a life by the dumpster. Any donation - big and small - will help these four make it to a new life in loving homes. Donations can be send to my Paypal account: saints@mail.dk </span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="color: #666666;">You can also use the DONATE button on the right side of my blog. Please make sure to tick the donation as a gift - that way we avoid any fee!</span></span></div>

<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Rj24C0X51jA/VD0kbS7mArI/AAAAAAAAD-A/Ux3uir9wfPA/s1600/Snowy1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Rj24C0X51jA/VD0kbS7mArI/AAAAAAAAD-A/Ux3uir9wfPA/s1600/Snowy1.jpg" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">For such a long time I've dreamt of assembling all the images of my entire Greek kitty crew (all 44 of them!) and making them available for 'virtual adoption'. Well, I've finally done it! - and f or<span style="color: #666666;"> <span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">€</span>10</span> or $12,50 you can help with the upkeep of one cat which will cover the costs of food, worm and flea treatment and yearly vaccination. All of my cats, apart from two tiny new crew members, are all neutered so this will not be necessary to take into consideration. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia;">Recently a quartet of kittens were discarded by the dumpster where I have been feeding a small colony for the last 4 years - and I don't know if people just discard them by the day now - but this little colony keeps growing as well. This means that I currently use more than 120 kg of kibble per month and lots of canned food too, which along with providing the cats with worm and flea treatment, vaccinations and the occasional large veterinary bill has become impossible for me to cover from personal funds. With your help I can keep up the good work and even, hopefully, begin to build some small shelters in the garden (something I've also been dreaming about for a long time for my outdoor crew). </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia;">For the moment I have made an <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/122397396@N06/sets/72157648203783609/"><span style="color: #9fc5e8;">album on Flickr</span></a> where you can pop over and have a look at the cats available for 'virtual adoption'. You can see the entire crew in my Flickr photo-stream, whilst the album entitled "Available for virtual adoption" will only have the images of the cats left for adoption. For easements sake I will update and remove the image of each cat virtually adopted. Snowy (in the image above) is one of the cats still looking for a 'virtual adoptive parent'. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia;">The way this works is that you visit the<span style="color: #9fc5e8;"> </span><a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/122397396@N06/sets/72157648203783609/"><span style="color: #9fc5e8;">Flickr album</span></a> and leave me a comment here with your cat of choice (or send me an email to <a href="mailto:joanbowell@yahoo.com">joanbowell@yahoo.com</a>) send the monthly amount <span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">€</span>10 or $12,50 (or several months in one go) via my Paypal account: <a href="mailto:saints@mail.dk">saints@mail.dk</a> - and I will send a regular update of you chosen cat. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia;">I am currently updating my blog (not done yet!) - I will put an album here with the images of all my Greek cats and a separate page with my art. As most of you know, I sell my art to raise funds for the cats, now I will provide you with updates - right here - whenever there's new art for sale. Stay tuned, new art will soon be available!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia;">Much is happening around here and if you don't follow the stories on Facebook, I have two new crew members (more about them soon, I promise) - two tiny kittens that were physically discarded (just two weeks old) in the dumpster. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia;">I'm delighted to announce that already 14 of my kitty crew members have been virtually adopted - thank you SO much dear friends!!</span></div>

<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5-Ymy_00oZE/U_2liU2c7gI/AAAAAAAAD3o/r_P1-BytM90/s1600/Honey%2B1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5-Ymy_00oZE/U_2liU2c7gI/AAAAAAAAD3o/r_P1-BytM90/s1600/Honey%2B1.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Four months has passed by since my last blog post - and I can't really believe this post is about the same subject matter as the last - and the one before that! But, here I am once again with a heartfelt request for a safe and loving forever home for the young ginger girly trio. A some point there was the hope and promise of them finding homes in Germany (a fosterer stepped forward) but for unknown reasons the communication came to a stop - and I deliberately left the process for a while and let the girls enjoy their summer. But, they now share the same small space as they've always had with many other cats (this summer I've had to move the cats into a smaller space) and to be honest - it's like their loveliness just drowns among the crowd and they aren't especially happy to be sharing their space with all the other cats. Also it's impossible for me to give them the quality attention they once had with my former helper living with them... and they just simply deserve better - and it's distressing for me that I can't do more and better for them.</span> <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JazFEWzyaQI/U_2l9pr8iII/AAAAAAAAD3w/-aXeJtIt2R8/s1600/Honey%2B3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JazFEWzyaQI/U_2l9pr8iII/AAAAAAAAD3w/-aXeJtIt2R8/s1600/Honey%2B3.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">They are incredibly harmonious and... I wish the word wasn't so used, but they're just so <em>lovely</em>. They still have a thick bond between them, but Honey has grown to be quite an independent little <span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">lady in <span style="color: #666666;">spite of</span></span></span><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="color: #666666;"> being the smallest of the three. She was the first ever to just walk up to one of the bigger cats - with a confident stride! </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="color: #666666;"></span></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-eEm2YJAVjps/U_2m60rl8GI/AAAAAAAAD34/0ii4wFAoOUc/s1600/Honeeeey.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-eEm2YJAVjps/U_2m60rl8GI/AAAAAAAAD34/0ii4wFAoOUc/s1600/Honeeeey.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="color: #666666;"></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="color: #666666;"></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="color: #666666;">She boldly goes into new territory and loves exploring. I have always thought they belonged together but if any of them has the potential for individual adoption, it would be Honey. She loves her sisters dearly but she has always been happy to go exploring on her own whilst Buttercup and Daisy tend to do it together. Also Buttercup and Daisy still snuggle and groom together... with Honey it's more of a rarity. </span></span><br />

<br />
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">But... to fully understand Honey and to be a good forever parent for Honey, you need to understand that she has two faces... or two sides if you like. Whilst she has the stride and confidence of a cat three times her size (she only weighs 2,6 kg or just under 5 pounds and this is now her fully grown size, so she is physically quite small) and whilst she likes to portray her confident 'jungle queen self' - she also has a <em>very </em>great need for cuddles and for being carried around and being snuggled tightly. She loves bedtime and will happily keep you company all night long. Honey is very social and should not be left to herself for longer periods of time. She relies on company and is quite confident in the company of strangers (humans that is). But in spite of her bold demeanor, she also has a very little side to herself - her other self should just be called Baby! Her coloring is a little different to her two sisters - Honey is a 'cream ginger'.</span><br />

<br />
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Buttercup is a cute chatterer and she will tell you sweet fairy stories all the time if you will but listen... <span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Daisy and Buttercup are quite similar by nature and temperament - Daisy can also be sweetly vocal with her voice. There's not a mean bone in any of the three, but Daisy is especially gentle. She has a very gentle face.</span> <br />

<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I estimate they are born around the 1st of September 2013 as they were found discarded a dumpster during the last week of September last year. Just about 3 weeks old.</span> <br />
<br />
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">All three are now prepped for international adoption - each have rabies vaccination and microchip. <span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I'm very interested in anyone who knows something about prices of cats travelling both as cargo and in the cabin internationally. <br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">This blog post is to facilitate the adoption of Buttercup, Daisy and Honey (Honeysuckle). </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Most of you know the story... they were rescued after being discarded by a dumpster just 3 weeks old. My helper took them on and they thrived on love and they have grown just beautiful. My helper has now decided to move on in life and unfortunately weren't able to take the girls with her. They are now left behind in the apartment and they are urgently... URGENTLY looking for a loving safe forever home. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I do consider myself their current guardian but I cannot offer them a permanent home as I have an ever increasing problem with neighbors bemoaning cat visits in their gardens. I never wanted a situation where I would get unstuck with local Greek people and I'm desperate to get things on a balanced footing again. I have five stunning girls looking for a home but if I can first of all find a forever home for these 3 girls - then I really feel I will have made a great breakthrough. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">They are just around 8 months old and have just been spayed. They are in the final stages of their "kitten-hood" so they are still the cutest giddy little things. They are most loving and depend on cuddles and affection. They have been reared on the best quality food and have their vaccinations in place. Honey also has a travel passport, microchip and rabies vaccination (a failed attempt to get her to England). I will provide the other two girls with passports, microchip and rabies vaccination. Let us talk about the logistics of how to get them abroad if you can offer them a home. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">They have relied on each other for comfort and warmth since they were discarded at such a tender age and they now act in the same manner with each other, snuggling tightly each night when I tuck them to bed.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I do try to spend quality time with them each day and have had no other choice than to introduce them to the garden so satisfy their bursting energy levels and sweet curiosity. It may look perfect - BUT let me once again reiterate - letting them in the garden and adding them to my already 40 cats is causing a great strain on an already tense situation. SO PLEASE... do help spread the word once again if you are able.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">They are each others mainstay in life so it would be very perfect if they can find a home together but as I know this is wishful thinking I would also love to hear from anyone interested in them individually. You can drop me a line here: joanbowell@yahoo.com</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Here's a few images to introduce you further to these glorious young girls...</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia;">This is Buttercup... A little careful and shy outdoors but she charges around and loves her toys indoors. She is known for her love of lounging in the cat tray! (yes, much to the amusement of the person cleaning the cat tray!!). She has amazing drawings in her fur coat.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">And this is Daisy... Daisy appears like the more timid but she is actually pretty fearless outdoors. She happily explores the outdoors and is otherwise sweet, playful, gorgeous and affectionate. She appears like the most 'sensible' of the three. She has a very gentle look on her darling face and who can resist that brown line on her left front paw. I love it!</span></div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">And this is little Honey (Honeysuckle). She is just a little smaller than Buttercup and Daisy and acts like the cheeky little sister! She is the most affectionate of the three and will let you know when it's time for cuddles. She walks up to other cats with a stride and she is very confident. Honey is silly and giddy and will not sit still for long. It's impossible to get a good shot of her face because she is an action girl - but she is also charm itself in a little pretty fur coat!! She has similar drawings to Buttercup but she is the 'café-latte' colored version. </span></div>

<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-c9Br72do-HE/U0GeezILbVI/AAAAAAAADys/hynCQiGwpzs/s1600/Babies.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-c9Br72do-HE/U0GeezILbVI/AAAAAAAADys/hynCQiGwpzs/s1600/Babies.jpg" height="320" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">It was blissful happiness all over when these cutie pies were<span style="color: #b45f06;"> </span><a href="http://godslittlepeople.blogspot.com/2013/10/sos-from-rubbish-bin.html"><span style="color: #b45f06;">rescued back in October 2013</span></a>. You probably remember their miserable start to life - they were discarded by the dumpster just 3 weeks old. But sadness turned to delight when Rebecca agreed to take them on and they were rescued just in time. The day after they were rescued we had a torrential rainfall that lasted for 24 hours and it literally washed things away. They would not have survived abandoned in nature during this rainfall. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia;">But they were brought to safety and have thrived on love and affection and they have now grown into the most stunning ginger girls. Unfortunately some of their luck is running out as Rebecca will be leaving in 12 days (and unfortunately can't take them with her). </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia;">When she leaves I will take charge again for a while but my Greek home is full to the brim already and I have no choice but to let these beauties roam free among our other Greek cats. They will no longer have their own home and 'their own special person' so to speak. They are extremely affectionate and very much rely on love and cuddles - so unfortunately, as it happens, some of this will fade when they don't any longer live with a person to look after them. We are therefore desperately looking for an adoptive home or homes for them. I will be there to feed them and have some contact with them, but it will no longer be the same life for them with 'their person' gone. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">As some of you know, I have already posted on Facebook about their adoption. They are approx. 8 months old and they have had their vaccinations. Honeysuckle (the 'café-latte' colored kitty to the right in this image above) also has her rabies vaccination and microchip so she is ready to go anywhere in the world. The other two, Buttercup and Daisy will also be prepared for travel and it's preferred that the these two stay together as they very much rely on each other for comfort. If anyone can offer a home to the 3 girls together, all the better. </span></div>

<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KFKAZQimfi0/UzGweHf39zI/AAAAAAAADxk/WOjrWTFJJ5k/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KFKAZQimfi0/UzGweHf39zI/AAAAAAAADxk/WOjrWTFJJ5k/s1600/1.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Times are changing and I've come to a bit of a crossroad with my little Greek cat sanctuary in many ways. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Last year I had to leave it in the hands of my trusted helper to follow my husband to the States and it was a difficult and very big decision for me to leave behind my beloved cats. As winter approached needy cats kept appearing and with the efforts of my helper we rescued another 8 cats - leaving this sanctuary now at an absolute stretching point. Our kind and otherwise cat friendly farmer neighbors got a bit twitchy and we knew we had to start thinking about getting some of our cats adopted. This has never been an easy issue. Not just because we love all our cats but most of all because offers of adoptions are very hard to come by. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">We wish for a safe and loving life for all of our cats and we would LOVE for some of our cats to find that special forever home somewhere in Europe. Well, as you can imagine, each country has it's issues with an overpopulation of cats and most would chose to adopt from inside their own country. This practically makes it a MONUMENTAL task trying to get some of our cats adopted but I have hope - I have to proceed with hope and belief - because things needs to ease and change around here. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">My trusted helper has decided her time is up here and she now feel it's time to move on with another career path. She has invested herself hugely in this project and both the cats and I will miss her solely. But - life has to evolve and the time has come for some of our tame and most emotionally dependent cats to find a new home. With 40+ cats, we can no longer provide what the emotionally attached cats need and I dream of a new home and future prospect for them.</span> </div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-iSNVu-vj9Hg/UzGwd9mQ0oI/AAAAAAAADxg/La5oFmJYNpE/s1600/2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-iSNVu-vj9Hg/UzGwd9mQ0oI/AAAAAAAADxg/La5oFmJYNpE/s1600/2.JPG" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"> </span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">My first girl of concern is <a href="http://godslittlepeople.blogspot.com/2012/10/ivys-lucky-wish.html"><span style="color: #b45f06;">little miss Skipper</span></a><span style="color: #b45f06;">.</span> Well, she's actually not that little, but she will always be little viewed with my eyes. You might remember the story of her - a starving, loving and super affectionate 12-13 week old kitten discarded by the dumpster. In a way Skipper needed so much more attention right from the start than what I could really offer her because I had so many other young and needy cats at that point, but Skipper settled in nicely because she was always very independent and happy to just putter around and mind her own business even though she has always adored attention. I was delighted when Skipper received a bit of extra attention from a special friend in England -<a href="http://musingsofamarmalademoggy.blogspot.com/"> <span style="color: #b45f06;">Skipper's namesake</span></a> and her mummy. Ever so often we would receive a lovely parcel with treats and blankets and kind words - Skipper#1 and Anesha - thank you so much. You have always been such special and much needed friends to Skipper.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hfdo7vN4TsU/UzGwd3-5twI/AAAAAAAADxo/n_nsLWOoa3k/s1600/3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hfdo7vN4TsU/UzGwd3-5twI/AAAAAAAADxo/n_nsLWOoa3k/s1600/3.JPG" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Things eased a bit for Skipper when Rebecca, my helper, came to live with us. But alas, when Rebecca took on caring for some of the new kittens over the winter, it was really the tipping point for Skipper. Skipper took to sleeping elsewhere and that pretty much meant somewhere in nature. Skipper would sometimes return for food absolutely drenched from the rain - and this still being the case really saddens me. I have just spent 3 weeks in my sanctuary and took this lovely series of photos of Skipper - and gave her some much needed attention. We had a mix of weather - a few lovely days mixed with some atrocious weather - but I made sure to keep Skipper indoors. Now at least the dry season is approaching and I'm hoping for less rainy days. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--GwY8GDfd3g/UzGwfupU5gI/AAAAAAAADx8/SKRDafdqj0I/s1600/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--GwY8GDfd3g/UzGwfupU5gI/AAAAAAAADx8/SKRDafdqj0I/s1600/4.jpg" height="640" width="632" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia;">I want so much for Skipper. She is an absolute stunning girl who will roll over and reveal her most precious white belly for you. She will keep you company for gardening, puttering or any other daily activity whilst chatting away. She chats a lot and has a very cheery disposition.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--JQoiyOi8i0/UzHFKEm2BzI/AAAAAAAADyU/xkvOuOn6lRY/s1600/white+belly.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--JQoiyOi8i0/UzHFKEm2BzI/AAAAAAAADyU/xkvOuOn6lRY/s1600/white+belly.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia;">So I am sincerely asking for your help in finding Skipper the safe and loving home she deserves. Will you please share this post via Facebook and get in touch with all your cat loving friends in Europe. We will provide microchip and rabies vaccination for Skipper and we will somehow find a way for her transport. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia;">We have heard of lucky success stories of other Greek cats finding a loving home and we just somehow feel that THIS TIME AROUND it's time for LUCK to find it's way to one of our cats.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia;">Skipper is a young girl of just about 1 1/2 years and she is fit as a fiddle. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Here's dear Pidge - he returned home three days ago (after one week at the vet). </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I've been a bit tentative writing about his recovery as he's been in a real bad state. He is a <i>very</i> lucky boy to be back home. The image above is Pidge just quietly getting his bearings again back home... When he arrived home he was greeted by his siblings Callie and Kit - and mommy cat Cleo. </span></div>

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-a-5a5dqrYDs/UuuPbSTYkhI/AAAAAAAADwM/ZfOBpbYlqDs/s1600/P.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-a-5a5dqrYDs/UuuPbSTYkhI/AAAAAAAADwM/ZfOBpbYlqDs/s1600/P.JPG" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Many of you (those of you who's also on Facebok) will know by now that we have been faced with a real struggle recently. The number of cats having gathered around our place (not cats we have rescued or brought back - but cats that have just found their way to our garden) have just become overwhelming. Our farmer neighbours on either side have been very friendly about the cats but with the increasing number it has become an issue because the cats go to their always freshly dug gardens (the farmers tend their gardens several days a week) and as you might know, cats find fresh earth too inviting to not "participate' - as if someone just dug the earth for them to go do "natures calling." </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I'm not happy with the situation... around 30 cats seems to be the number that has been the limit of what we could handle. But as always, being on a small island with a very large and out of control cat population - we are faced with all the hungry and pleading cats and kittens that are born into this dire situation. And time and time again we are faced with are faced with the "left-overs" from holiday goers that take on a cat or a kitten for a while - and back home they go with absolutely no consciousness whatsoever. This happened to us during the late summer. Some people up the street left us a tame cat which came with "perks" - three little kittens! I insisted that we try to just keep our distance - feeding the cat mum, so she wouldn't struggle trying to keep her kittens fed and well, but not interacting with her and the kittens. But of course they eventually realised that there were both food and kind people to be found in our garden, so eventually they found no reason to leave. I have been absent, at least in physical form, for a good while now so Rebecca has been the one who has been interacting with this new family on a day to day basis. I know I couldn't take them on, so for me they have been what I call the obscure lives. I know they are there - and I feel for them, I do - but I know I can't stretch myself and the situation more and I therefore have to cut off emotionally. </span></div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">And yet, who wouldn't get involved if they fed these guys on a day to day basis? Who wouldn't also want the best for them? Just like we do for all the cats. But it's been a real struggle to stay afloat with food, medicines, neutering and so on (it's now 42 cats and still feeding 8-10 dumpster cats away from home) - and keeping the good balance at base. Here's the new crew in the image above - when they were just starting to get used to where they could find food everyday. Much to the dismay of the other cats - so they were tucked away in a corner at first whenever they had their meals. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">But of course they settled in... and you get smitten with each little kitty face. Even for me - trying to keep my distance... I get captured by the beauty in each cat and the want of each little cat to have a good life.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">But... Food is no all that will keep a little cat going. Vaccinations are vital for their good health and protection - and this is where we simply can not keep up. A good number of our cats are vaccinated but frankly, trying to cover all this from personal funds alone is back breaking. No one asked us to do it - and we do it because it's what we want to do - but it gets upsetting when you can't do more. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">And sadly, one of these little guys has been struck by the Parvo virus this week. Pidge, this grey boy, was brought to the vet 5 days ago and has been struggling for his life ever since. He is on fluids, intravenous antibiotics and electrolytes - and using whatever strength he has to fight. He was neutered just 10 days prior to this and cried his lungs out to come home so we know this is not an easy situation for him - or for us.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2uiOj89F4C0/UuuZn7QDZkI/AAAAAAAADw0/1NCp2jdWSQc/s1600/Pidge.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2uiOj89F4C0/UuuZn7QDZkI/AAAAAAAADw0/1NCp2jdWSQc/s1600/Pidge.JPG" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">We will be faced with a considerable vet bill for his treatment and we would therefore be SO grateful if anyone is able to donate - big or small - towards his care. You can as always use the orange Donate button just to the right of this post. Please drop me a line if you are having difficulties with Paypal - I'd be very happy to help (joanbowell@yahoo.com). Please remember to tick it as a gift, this way we avoid fees. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">The last image I have of Pidge is him with his brother Kit (the black and white boy). They'd jumped on one of the garden tables where they were basking in the sun and snuggled in the most endearing "love pretzel." And his pretty sister Callie adorning one of the garden walls. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">This is a testing time for us whilst we wait each day for an update on Pidge and hope all remains stable and sound at base. Will you please keep us in your prayers and thoughts - and help donate towards Pidge's treatment if you are able. </span><br />
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I would be so grateful to anyone who would share his story. I've posted a link on Facebook.</span></div>

<span style="background-color: white; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; line-height: 18px; text-align: left;"><span style="color: #666666;">Just like last year I asked an</span> <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/LittleIslandCompany?ref=listing-shop-header-item-count"><span style="color: blue;">Etsy seller</span></a><span style="color: #666666;"> and complete stranger back in November if she would like to donate towards my kitty cause in the shape of donating a gift to thank my vet for his kin</span></span><span class="text_exposed_show" style="background-color: white; color: #666666; display: inline; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; line-height: 18px; text-align: left;">dness and tireless efforts with helping not only our cats but Greek all Greek cats and animals in general. As you can imagine we have huge expenses each month to look after the 50 cats in our care (including the dumpster cats we feed). So being urgent to put each cent and penny towards the care of the cats - to have someone donate a gift to our vet is utterly encouraging and so invaluable. </span></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"></span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<span style="color: #666666;">So I send a HUGE thank you to artist Barbara Esposito and owner of Little Island Company in California. She responded to my request within 10 minutes and promptly sent this cute onesie. This year my Greek vet had the good fortune of getting married and is now expecting his first baby with his wife. So I simply couldn't resist these quirky kitty faces and that simple message "I like cats" (</span><a href="http://godslittlepeople.blogspot.com/2012/12/a-heart-of-gold-merits-kindness-from.html"><span style="color: #b45f06;">last year he had a t-shirt with the message "Real men loves cats"</span></a><span style="color: #666666;">). </span></div>

I am feel so grateful that Barbara had trust in me and sent us this gift with no hesitation - and most importantly, she helped us thank our vet. He btw was busy during the Christmas days trying to save the lives of cats and dogs that had been poisoned in one of our local areas. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</span></span><span style="line-height: 18px;"><div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666;">Barbara, thank you for your trust and kindness. A happy and prosperous New Year to you and your little company. You can see more of the cute goods from Little Island Company here: </span><span style="color: blue;"><span style="color: blue;"><a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/LittleIslandCompany?ref=listing-shop-header-item-count"><span style="color: blue;">https://www.etsy.com/shop/LittleIslandCompany?ref=listing-shop-header-item-count</span></a> </span> </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666;">The top image is our vet doing a selfie with the onesie :-)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666;"><i>AND to you my dear dear friends...</i> You have been so kind to us this year. Thank you for your love, for your support, for your kind and encouraging words and not least your wonderful donations. You help us continue the work with the cats. For us it's now time for a bit of a think-tank to see how we might do more for the all feral cats of the islands. As you know we have long reached our physical limit with the cats but that doesn't mean that we don't feel the plea on behalf of all the other cats. We are itching to bring each kitty home and if we knew we could get them all adopted, we would bring them home in an instant. Anyhow. See you in this space next year and until then...</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Rebecca and I are just a couple of girls silly in love with cats. I'm so grateful to have found a helper as silly smitten as myself...</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">We love the work we do in this little "orphanage love factory" and we never never tire of what we do.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">But then oxytocin (also known as the love hormone) has that ability to keep you going.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">How can you not be smitten??</span></span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">You get a very special level of bonding with rescue cats... they have their ways of letting you know that they know you rescued them. This is Biscuit and yours truly. Yes, they do silly (fills you with smiles) things to your face!! Just look at Rebecca's face too. We're smitten girls and we're happy to admit it :-)</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">He's an impressive looking boy today. Unfortunately it was too late to save his right eye (image above is mirrored) but he is a giddy silly love muffin.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Would you please spare a moment and help me thank Rebecca in the comment box. It has been absolutely invaluable to us that she has come into our lives. She has a tiny human frame but she has a HUGE loving and compassionate heart. We've shared very sad moments this year (Rebecca suffered a big heartache over a kitten we simply couldn't save) but we have also shared so many moments of miraculous healing, uplift, love, light and pure joy.</span></div>

<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">A last batch of cards for 2013 with a selection of my favorite images from this year.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">With the last sale two of the cards sold out instantly and many of you asked for it. Well, here's your chance again and this time they will be available through my Etsy shop for easements sake. It costs a little more - $5,50 - because we pay a listing fee, but I hope you understand that each precious cent goes entirely towards the cats. There's no added shipping fee whether you buy one or more. This time the cards will ship from America. Each card comes in a cello sleeve and as always will be lovingly wrapped and shipped.</span><br />

<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">And this time I chose the above quote by Rumi.</span><span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> When we rescue a lonely little stray or orphaned soul I believe it's a beautiful process of removing hopelessness and despair - something that I have seen too often in the eyes of a little cat. And the rescue is mutual... We light a candle in a little heart and they do in our hearts. We fill a void in a little soul and they fill ours. And we certainly feel it. <div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="color: #666666;">You might </span><a href="http://godslittlepeople.blogspot.dk/2012/12/amazing-gracie.html"><span style="color: #e69138;">remember the story of our blind cat Gracie?</span></a></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Well, this is the story of Gilby - another blind cat which we believe is the long lost brother of Gracie. </span><span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">They move completely alike and they have a similar scanning head movement... </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">I guess their way of sensing what's happening around them.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tBiZ4wGMgEM/UokXDWhdQPI/AAAAAAAADqM/O_WfoboL_vw/s1600/PB050129.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tBiZ4wGMgEM/UokXDWhdQPI/AAAAAAAADqM/O_WfoboL_vw/s640/PB050129.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">If Gilby is indeed Gracie's brother then Gilby has survived on his own in the wild for three years!! Quite how is a complete mystery. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I first spotted Gracie almost three years ago and Gilby used to scurry off in the same direction as Gracie and up the exact same dirt track further up the mountain side. He even started coming inside the garden from the same side as Gracie did. That's 6 months ago. Back then he looked terribly skinny, dehydrated and unkempt. At that point he was just too timid to get close to and we literally had to throw food at him in the hope that he would find it before running off again. It was clear he came in the search of food but would always get too overwhelmed by fear when he heard us. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-e9xe9RFFg8c/UokZ5aFnQEI/AAAAAAAADqg/IKJskTIwrvY/s1600/PB050132.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-e9xe9RFFg8c/UokZ5aFnQEI/AAAAAAAADqg/IKJskTIwrvY/s640/PB050132.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; text-align: -webkit-auto;">But like Gracie he seemed to remember us and our place. And recently he started coming back. Maybe he was so "lucky" to have a summer of tourists feeding him because he seems to have become just a bit more used to human contact. But as it happens on Greek islands, tourists disappear this time of the year and Gilby obviously came to us in the search of his means of survival. Rebecca has now taken him under her care and I'm delighted to see how he is thriving and becoming more confident and now even responds to his name Gilby. We thought he should have a G name as we felt certain he was the brother of Gracie. So now it's officially Gilby & Gracie! Sounds sweet doesn't it!?</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; text-align: -webkit-auto;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hc4TYen3cPc/UokaHb_2yxI/AAAAAAAADqo/i3K1yaisfFc/s1600/PB050138.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hc4TYen3cPc/UokaHb_2yxI/AAAAAAAADqo/i3K1yaisfFc/s640/PB050138.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Gilby is showing great bravery. He now knows where the outdoor feeding station is in spite of all the other cats. And he's discovered where there's padded sleeping spaces. But he has also discovered that it is perfectly safe to just veg out right in front of us licking up the mild and warming rays of sunshine you get in Greece this time of the year. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vUQwMq0YtsQ/UokYpX9t9qI/AAAAAAAADqY/tKfcfPHxx_8/s1600/Gilby+new.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="450" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vUQwMq0YtsQ/UokYpX9t9qI/AAAAAAAADqY/tKfcfPHxx_8/s640/Gilby+new.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">It's a very great privilege to earn the trust of a feral but there's something even more special when it's also blind. Gracie has given us her heart full-heartedly - her capacity to show us love - and receive it n return - is quite honestly overwhelming and most humbling. Gilby is firmly on the same path. A lot of kind and encouraging words are flowing his way each day - and now he is even getting used to feeling love through gentle touch. Very soon Gilby's true nature will be able to flourish. I am sure we will see a boy full of mischief - just like Gracie. But for now we just let Gilby find his own way. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I don't know if Gracie and Gilby have a greater understanding of love because of their blindness but if Gracie's bounciness is something to go by then Gilby has arrived at just the right place. We have love in abundance and I believe this gentle boy is quite ready to have his heart filled with just that!! We feel most honored he has come our way.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">For those not familiar with Gracie, then Gracie is the girl to the left in the top image. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="color: #666666;">You can </span><a href="http://godslittlepeople.blogspot.dk/2012/12/amazing-gracie.html"><span style="color: #e69138;">read her story here.</span></a></span></div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-CeXTAMWeEwY/UmAJAkZvrOI/AAAAAAAADpk/T3aE9zPVM3o/s1600/Cards.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-CeXTAMWeEwY/UmAJAkZvrOI/AAAAAAAADpk/T3aE9zPVM3o/s640/Cards.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I'm so touched by this quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson...</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>"You cannot do a kindness too soon for you never know how soon it will be too late."</i></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Therefore it was chosen to adorn the back of this years - shall we call them - towards the end of the year cards. A tradition which I'm delighted to announce we've now stuck to for three years. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I know we have only finished a round of collecting funds for the three ginger girls (which you might have read about in the last post) and we were delighted at all the goodwill in sharing and of course the warming donations we received. Right now we are trying to get these little beauties a lasting home together in the UK... you will be updated on their progress. Right now they are thriving in Rebecca's loving care. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">But the work we do is unending and our next project is neutering. So here we are again this year with a small batch of cards with a selection of images - telling a combined story of what we do. A perfect greeting card (and of beautiful quality) for anyone who loves and appreciates work done to improve the lives of cats. </span></div>

<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Olive is one of our more less known but good-looking (oh yes he is!!) and majorly charming characters who's been with us ever since the beginning. He was dropped off by a desperate kitty mom and he sat just 6 weeks old crying pitifully (with a respiratory infection) every evening until my heart couldn't stand it anymore and I grabbed him to safety. He was a feral kitten but he knew he had to get himself saved! Later kitty mom realised this was a good place so she came for good as well. </span></div>

<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Our little warrior Snowy. You might remember Snowy. He had an extremely difficult beginning to life. He had the absolute worst respiratory problem stemming from a bad flu he suffered when he was rescued. We actually had him in confinement for 5 months before his lungs had healed and grown enough for him to be able to even play without going into an asthmatic attack at the slightest movement. This picture will say more to us than to many but it has great significance because it is taken at a time where Snowy once again where able to move and play outside and it speaks volumes about what some of our rescued cats have overcome. Understandably it's taken Snowy a while to get socialised but today he adores people and all his friends - and loves to entertain in a way that makes you smile!</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">And finally my lost but forever beloved Elvis, who was an at distance family member. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Elvis will always represent all the cats that we care for at distance, which we love just as much, but simply haven't been able to rescue due to our physical limits. I think Rebecca will join me when I say that our hearts are really broken into hundreds of little pieces spread around this Greek island. Many cats go unnoticed to humans but they've left a deep imprint on our hearts and souls. Elvis was part of a small colony of "dumpster" cats which we've fed for the last three years and continue to do so every morning and evening. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">As always, thanks for helping us making life just a little better for Greek cats. We take great pride in the work we do and your warmth, support and encouragement means the world to us!</span></div>

<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6Sdq5c3XfVs/Ukv5bprgoWI/AAAAAAAADnw/qT4x7H6grl4/s1600/kittenface.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6Sdq5c3XfVs/Ukv5bprgoWI/AAAAAAAADnw/qT4x7H6grl4/s640/kittenface.jpeg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">So we've done something we haven't done in a real long time - simply because we are now 40 + cats (new ones appear out of nowhere and simply won't leave) and our place is crowded out. </span></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">It's an inhumane thing - having to override ones instinct and having to turn away when you see a cat in need. Because we have NO-where to turn when we find a cat in need (even young kittens) we have been forced to just keep an eye on it from a distance and deem it fit enough for it's survival - if it doesn't have any obvious disease or distress. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"> </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">But whilst I have been away, Rebecca got presented with the absolute impossible to ignore predicament... a beautiful little bunch of three 4 week old kittens - ruthlessly discarded in the field where we daily feed 8-10 stray cats. People have taken note that cats are being fed there and they obviously thought this would be the ideal place for these teensy toffees to learn to fend for themselves. Yes, say ??? </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"> </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Rebecca was in agony over these kittens because of our policy that we couldn't take more in, so she left an old padded bin, which would at least keep them warm and dry - and then she came back to feed and check on them. She kept them there for a week (and had an week of sleepless nights wondering about their safety) as there was no one else who would take them. That's until she broke the news to me and I came to "inspect" the predicament. I knew in advance that there was no choice. I knew from the weather forecast that we were expecting the first torrential rain of the year (well, since early spring) and it's no lie to say that these three guys would have drowned yesterday morning had they not been rescued to safety the day before. We had a few hours yesterday morning where stepping outside the door was like stepping into a bathtub... with thunder, lightning and strong winds. We both felt an enormous relief at knowing they were safe - instantly thriving under Rebecca's caring hands. A tragic situation of them being separated from the warmth and care and nourishment from kitty mom (and the heartache kitty mom must have felt at someone removing them from her) has been turned into a blissful rescue where they are safe and warm, cuddled and cared for and well fed. They have acted exemplary, instantly using the little toilet provided for them and they instantly acted as if they knew their new home inside out. I pointed out to Rebecca that yes, they did indeed know this place already, because that's where they'd lived in Rebecca's mind for an entire week in her heart and mind!! I'm amazed that she lasted that long before scooping them up and bringing them to safety.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"> </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">BUT... we really seriously cannot keep them. It's been a principle of ours that we wouldn't compromise the health and well-being of the cats we've rescued already, so we did this rescue with blind faith, believing that this good deed would attract the help of willing angels. We are therefore putting out this plea which is both to find them a new home but also if anyone is able to contribute towards their first vaccinations and then their passports (which will include rabies vaccination and microchip) making it possible for them to travel abroad for a better life. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"> </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">And if you would please help us by sharing their story on all your social media - thank you so so much in advance. On behalf of Buttercup, Goldie and Bouncer (Bouncer is the little creamy colored one at the back in the image below. As you can see, they are absolutely beautiful and just waiting for a safe and loving forever home.</span></div>

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RJELaRCwjv0/UiseFFvor_I/AAAAAAAADiU/NY7qDlLVvQ8/s1600/1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RJELaRCwjv0/UiseFFvor_I/AAAAAAAADiU/NY7qDlLVvQ8/s640/1.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">First of all, before I tell the story behind these images, let me rush to tell you the terrific news about Bambi from my last post... and thank you all SO much for sharing his plea. Bambi <i>has</i> as a matter of fact arrived in the States!! And not only that, right now he and one of his little friends from Lebanon are being fostered by a kind vet! You might remember Bambi had urgent intestinal issues and the latest I heard is that he won't be needing surgery. So just to those you you who would care to know. I'm so elated at this news.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">On a personal note there's been a major shift in my life. I'm no longer physically in Greece - although my heart and soul is still there! Big changes are happening, but more about that some other time. Rebecca, my helper, has been put in charge, and all my cats are now safely and lovingly in her care until I get clarity about the future. I naturally miss my babies like... well, there's just no words for that. No words.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">But still, it's been a busy summer in Greece and we have been involved and caught up in so many little lives on our way. Maybe you remember this particular group of cats which I wrote about back in May. This little white and black beauty is the girl Rebecca got smitten by. Because we now have such a lack of space and we can't compromise on the lives we've rescued already, we agreed to try and take care and look after these kittens as much as we could. They live across the island so it's not just a quick dash down the road. </span></div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Their lives actually tell a story of what it's like to be a Greek cat. This exemplifies a very typical setting. We first spotted this place when we wanted to go for a swim in this gorgeous spot. It's a small promenade in an old Venetian influenced part of town and with a spectacular view (when you jump in the water) looking up at a dramatic scenery with an impressive cobalt blue church dome in the middle. </span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QT4Gr54SCWg/UisfqgjqfKI/AAAAAAAADio/TqZgmt2C_iQ/s1600/2a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QT4Gr54SCWg/UisfqgjqfKI/AAAAAAAADio/TqZgmt2C_iQ/s640/2a.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">So many people walk past these cats every day whilst making their way down to the promenade. There's no telling whether there will be kind hands and friendly words or whether there will be shoo's and trying to scare them out of the way (even though this is actually the home of the cats).</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5ggPXNmt2j4/Uise-0E3-XI/AAAAAAAADic/TiIQ_l3Tdo4/s1600/3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5ggPXNmt2j4/Uise-0E3-XI/AAAAAAAADic/TiIQ_l3Tdo4/s640/3.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">And yet, in the middle of this dramatic scenery this is the sweetness you will find of the steps. </span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_GUUper4Zcc/Uisg1_LBagI/AAAAAAAADi4/8LQSMAAT79c/s1600/3a.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_GUUper4Zcc/Uisg1_LBagI/AAAAAAAADi4/8LQSMAAT79c/s640/3a.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">As you can imagine, we've actually tended to just get lost in watching all their antics, cuteness and capturing tender moments like these. </span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-nSotMq1RUQ0/UishcNfswhI/AAAAAAAADjA/7K_usDQ7IQE/s1600/3b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-nSotMq1RUQ0/UishcNfswhI/AAAAAAAADjA/7K_usDQ7IQE/s640/3b.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Luckily still young enough to just play and be carefree.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-M80wRbHo_CE/UisiQfd_AlI/AAAAAAAADjM/H_aJ70EByKQ/s1600/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-M80wRbHo_CE/UisiQfd_AlI/AAAAAAAADjM/H_aJ70EByKQ/s640/4.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Part of what makes it so typical is that this little group of cats actually have a "carer." Well, a carer to the extent he is able to according to Greek standards (where medical care doesn't come into the question). But these cats and kittens are cared for by a Greek pensioner - and widowed just last year - who we heard spends his entire pension each month on buying food for the cats.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-e0soz98PSXY/UislK9AmYEI/AAAAAAAADkU/3ak5OpMGjWE/s1600/5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-e0soz98PSXY/UislK9AmYEI/AAAAAAAADkU/3ak5OpMGjWE/s640/5.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">He has created a little tucked away, to as much safety as possible, spot with a few beaten up boxes and plastic and where he (and some of his pensioner friends) leave their dinner scraps every day. It's obvious not all food are ideal for kitty tummies and certainly not kitten tummies, but you have to love this man for trying. We had a few days where some of the kittens disappeared. It's a complete mystery where they went to, but the old man was so distressed because he couldn't find the kittens. By now we've gathered that he actually brings down to safety discarded kittens, which he finds around town where he lives. And there are discarded kittens everywhere. Everywhere!</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oA30BGbU8RY/Uiskz1QeVeI/AAAAAAAADkE/FYJRuHyxqdA/s1600/5a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oA30BGbU8RY/Uiskz1QeVeI/AAAAAAAADkE/FYJRuHyxqdA/s640/5a.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Maybe not the most sanitary situation, but still, it offers them life - and not least to know that they are cared for by someone.</span> </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-B7wDv_Slmmk/Uisk_jncO2I/AAAAAAAADkM/d9aWY1kWI14/s1600/5b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-B7wDv_Slmmk/Uisk_jncO2I/AAAAAAAADkM/d9aWY1kWI14/s640/5b.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">We met the elderly chap one day and had a little chat about the mysterious disappearance of the kittens. In this image they had just appeared again and he was anxiously tucking them into safety in this little make-shift miniature plot of earth he's made for them along the steps. In town you can't consider them safe anywhere, so he is doing what he can here, trying to remove them from town people who do not, shall we just say, appreciate cats. Honestly, I really bless this gent for his heart and compassion even though it might not be our idea of perfect cat care.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MYmMcMMtqFM/Uislb3QDAgI/AAAAAAAADkk/dgZdsP_i7Hk/s1600/6.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MYmMcMMtqFM/Uislb3QDAgI/AAAAAAAADkk/dgZdsP_i7Hk/s640/6.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">We have never wanted to take away from the pleasure he gets on a daily basis feeding these cats and kittens but we have quietly slipped in some medical help and a better quality food for the kittens at other times of the day. Rebecca as an example rescued the two black and white kittens from complete blindness back in June whilst I was away for a couple of weeks. They both had developed a bad eye infection and there was no other way than going back and forth each day to make sure they had their eyedrops to save their eye sight. Because they're the most easy going of them all we've also been able to give them flea treatment. As a result of their well being they just own this space!</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">A full tummy and a fur coat all shined up by mummy cat... and all romped-out. This little guy can hardly keep his eyes open for the photographer!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AWEyJ-3tu5U/Uisls96dGWI/AAAAAAAADks/Z1ELm3HgZu0/s1600/8.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AWEyJ-3tu5U/Uisls96dGWI/AAAAAAAADks/Z1ELm3HgZu0/s640/8.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="color: #666666;">One day I discovered this creamy beauty. He reminds me of </span><a href="http://godslittlepeople.blogspot.dk/2012/11/holy-glow.html"><span style="color: #f1c232;">Biscuit</span></a><span style="color: #666666;">... I just adore this particular color (and we're talking major crush here!!) but I don't actually know what it's called. Does anyone know?? I call it cafe-latte :-)</span></span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zw56AOdyLSQ/UislwAC64gI/AAAAAAAADk0/P1r1MOEny0I/s1600/9.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zw56AOdyLSQ/UislwAC64gI/AAAAAAAADk0/P1r1MOEny0I/s640/9.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">He soon got the hang of just how smitten I was, so he decided to charm me off my butt! I spite of terribly timid he jumped up in a tree and just melted me...</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xE0Syve69m0/UisjWWaRM7I/AAAAAAAADjc/t7Fsi6bFO24/s1600/10.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xE0Syve69m0/UisjWWaRM7I/AAAAAAAADjc/t7Fsi6bFO24/s640/10.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">A real little cute play for the keen photographer...</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CIJqTeeQjnY/UisjJkpPM5I/AAAAAAAADjU/Q6SOUfKou2Q/s1600/11.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CIJqTeeQjnY/UisjJkpPM5I/AAAAAAAADjU/Q6SOUfKou2Q/s640/11.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Is this cute enough??</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lFp5pKxkGbA/UisjatIOuSI/AAAAAAAADjk/8iPjw8zmjaE/s1600/12.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lFp5pKxkGbA/UisjatIOuSI/AAAAAAAADjk/8iPjw8zmjaE/s640/12.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">How about now?</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ae2Rv7WHoFA/UiskRym1cDI/AAAAAAAADjs/1-YKak5fczA/s1600/13.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ae2Rv7WHoFA/UiskRym1cDI/AAAAAAAADjs/1-YKak5fczA/s640/13.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">And one of the all-cleared-up-eyes black and white babies wanting in on the photo play up the trees. Shall we pull out the adoption papers?? He's terribly cute too, don't you think?!</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-D00pfOPx8_E/UiskTxdSc7I/AAAAAAAADj0/AxtrlfejprE/s1600/14.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-D00pfOPx8_E/UiskTxdSc7I/AAAAAAAADj0/AxtrlfejprE/s640/14.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">And finally back to the two little white and black kittens where it all began back in May - on these very steps. These two really caught our attention because of their special eye color combination - one blue and one amber. Above it's the boy - he's cute and cheeky...</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9vaW9URhD3w/UiskcQZQMGI/AAAAAAAADj8/hnCF8ZWdRls/s1600/15.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9vaW9URhD3w/UiskcQZQMGI/AAAAAAAADj8/hnCF8ZWdRls/s640/15.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">And the girl, Rebecca's tiny infatuation. Several people have been eying up this little girl this summer. She's a real beauty but very timid (probably the only reason she's still here). Rebecca has spent some time building trust with her and the most recent news is that she has bee able to pick her up for a cuddle.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">These feral cats live strangely privileged. Not the ultimate according to our standards and yet they have so much more than what most can hope for. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I still have the vision for a big cat sanctuary for the cats on this island. Even though we have come to accept a whole lot less on behalf of the cats we meet on our way, we still have a longing on their behalf. Of course you can't but live with the feeling that they all deserve a loving home and the best medical care. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I hold onto that vision.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gcZwuDpU3j8/UfDbJnoSthI/AAAAAAAADhQ/8iLTkA4hCjI/s1600/B.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gcZwuDpU3j8/UfDbJnoSthI/AAAAAAAADhQ/8iLTkA4hCjI/s640/B.jpeg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Before I tell this story, let me just inform you - those of you who may have wondered about Rocco, the blind cat who was looking for a travel companion to his new home in Noway, well -he has indeed arrived in his new beautiful home in Oslo. I only just recently heard this good news. So thanks to everyone who shared his story. You never know these days where help will come from... and therefore let me rush on to the story of Bambi.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6LeMNEplwfo/UfDbJ9vjRKI/AAAAAAAADhc/_GQG7iiE9Ws/s1600/Ba.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6LeMNEplwfo/UfDbJ9vjRKI/AAAAAAAADhc/_GQG7iiE9Ws/s640/Ba.jpeg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; text-align: justify;">This is Bambi, found dying in the streets of Beirut, Lebanon at the beginning of June. And no, I don't respond to all stories I hear or see on Facebook about cats in desperate need - I have plenty of stories to tell you from our own part of the world. But when I saw these first images of Bambi on Facebook I simply could not not respond. I actually went into serious consideration to adopt him. But having thought about it some more I realised that Bambi would't have the optimum conditions growing up with us. We already spend many many hours each day making sure each little kitty is cuddled and noted and that's a big task with 35 cats. But I kept in touch about Bambi and his progress and I was unable to let go of knowing more about his future destiny. </span><br />
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; text-align: justify;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">On top of these sad first images of Bambi I just felt such an immense sense of sympathy for the volunteers working tirelessly for saving animals in a place neighbouring up to Syria. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4giUGE073TQ/UfDbKNPyjRI/AAAAAAAADhY/XcU0hX0uZeI/s1600/Bam.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4giUGE073TQ/UfDbKNPyjRI/AAAAAAAADhY/XcU0hX0uZeI/s640/Bam.jpeg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Upon finding Bambi in the gutter he was abandoned and motherless, severely emaciated, dehydrated, anaemic and suffered a cold.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">But luckily Bambi was placed with a loving foster mom and as you can see he slowly but surely made some amazingly beautiful progress. </span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KlC8qaIvp9E/UfDbLRJhViI/AAAAAAAADho/mohsvuCs_es/s1600/Bamb.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KlC8qaIvp9E/UfDbLRJhViI/AAAAAAAADho/mohsvuCs_es/s640/Bamb.jpeg" width="422" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">But, Bambi does suffer some intestinal issues, explained here in the words of the lady I'm in contact with from the Animals Lebanon rescue group;</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-n6ICAqgU3R8/UZkhvKnsIrI/AAAAAAAADf8/ZsrIFKcJLco/s1600/G1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-n6ICAqgU3R8/UZkhvKnsIrI/AAAAAAAADf8/ZsrIFKcJLco/s1600/G1.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="color: #666666;">A very dear cat friend of mine (</span><a href="http://godslittlepeople.blogspot.de/2012/12/a-heart-of-gold-merits-kindness-from.html"><span style="color: #b45f06;">pictured in the second image in this Christmas post</span></a><span style="color: #666666;">) emailed me the story about this ginger kitty family a few days ago. </span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="color: #666666;">Do you remember the </span><a href="http://godslittlepeople.blogspot.de/2011/07/what-gets-you.html"><span style="color: #b45f06;">story of Rosie and Rufus</span></a><span style="color: #666666;"> being rescued from a small town park? Well, a few days ago a woman (who now feeds these park cats every day) found two tiny kittens abandoned in the park. Sadly one had already died but the other was rescued and brought to safety. It seemed someone had just conveniently dropped the "problem" in this park. Unbelievably this cruel "problem solving" repeated itself the very next day. Three tiny ginger kittens abandoned in the exact same spot. The woman who feed the cats picked up these little babies and immediately brought them to a spot where she knew she could find my cat friend and her husband. They managed to get hold of a transport box and they then set off home to bring these now orphaned and desperately crying kittens to safety. </span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">On their way up through town and up the steps to where they live (Greek houses all clustered together high up on a hill) a miracle suddenly happens. A cat starts following them and acts all frantically and insistent. Yes, unbelievably and miraculously it turns out to be kitty mom who's obviously desperately been looking for her babies and by an absolute strike of luck she now accidentally happens to be reunited with her babies again. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">My dear friends then brought this entire little family home to safety where they could all enjoy the blissful reunion. As you can see in this above image everyone was very happy. </span></div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">For the moment a very happy family but these precious babies are all looking to be adopted. My dear cat friends unfortunately have to go back to their country of origin for the moment, so they will be placing this beautiful ginger family with a woman who is already way above the number of cats she can handle (and sadly we just can't responsibly take more... we're already looking to possible homing the kittens from my last post). We're absolutely inundated with cats and kittens looking for homes and this is sadly also the reason for why some people mercilessly choose to discard "the problem" they way they do. Thinking that tiny kittens like these can fend for themselves dumped in a town park. </span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MAYipyNQ2VY/UZkhxFOCeCI/AAAAAAAADgo/DpuvTVMA8oE/s1600/g7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MAYipyNQ2VY/UZkhxFOCeCI/AAAAAAAADgo/DpuvTVMA8oE/s1600/g7.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">So, to repeat myself from my last post, if anyone wants to give these Greek kittens a fighting chance and wants to spread the word of them looking for a forever loving home - please share the news (and on Facebook). Thanks so much!</span></div>

</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xLjyBfrckAE/UY9rizvJmkI/AAAAAAAADeY/hLDXeXp8Lhc/s1600/P5120012.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xLjyBfrckAE/UY9rizvJmkI/AAAAAAAADeY/hLDXeXp8Lhc/s640/P5120012.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">We have joked and laughed about it, been anxiously anticipating it and had serious talks about it - but of course she had it coming. Rebecca (my terrific kitty assistant) had to at some point come across her own little kittens that she would want to rescue.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I've known for a long time now that I needed to do the responsible thing, which is to not take on further rescues. The 35 kitties that I have rescued now need a certain quality of life, and it is difficult already as it is to cover their basic maintenance (if I include basic things such as monthly flea and worm treatment). We get through approx. 100 kg of kibble/wet food each month (including the group of dumpster cats that we feed too), so yes... the "kitty rescue honey moon" sadly is not unending for us. But that said, I do want Rebecca to have her very own rescue experience. That very special feeling of rescuing a cat or a kitten and that very special bond that it creates.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">She's bee eyeing up various "potentials" and right now this little fluff ball has got her tucking her heart strings. A little brown and blue eyed beauty that just happens to be born into a small colony of cats,living on a hillside behind the old Venetian part of town.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SgnouxK2DFQ/UY9riR556yI/AAAAAAAADeM/wD7kEWfr-hA/s1600/P5120010.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SgnouxK2DFQ/UY9riR556yI/AAAAAAAADeM/wD7kEWfr-hA/s640/P5120010.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Rebecca felt this one was a match because of the unusual blue eye (Rebecca has eyes bluer than blue!) and it's a little rock climber - so's Rebecca!</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BoIinq8-lqs/UY9ribdEzsI/AAAAAAAADeI/GfjVVJ9hdtI/s1600/P5120015.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BoIinq8-lqs/UY9ribdEzsI/AAAAAAAADeI/GfjVVJ9hdtI/s640/P5120015.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">The little rock climber...</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Little rock climbers sibling... yes, in need of some treatment for his or her blue eye. And yes, of course this one would need rescuing too. Anyone out there ready to adopt???</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZLmJOs6CDYs/UY9rpZHZWvI/AAAAAAAADeg/eHuElaDanZE/s1600/P5120020.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZLmJOs6CDYs/UY9rpZHZWvI/AAAAAAAADeg/eHuElaDanZE/s640/P5120020.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Blue eyed mamma kitty... isn't this rather unusual in a non pedigree cat??</span></div>

<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">And "big" rock climber (Rebecca) trying to make friends with the little ones (a difficult task with all the hungry adults around). </span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-61xwCrk4vco/UY9rv6OoGTI/AAAAAAAADe4/VMFwYrnz1bQ/s1600/P5120023.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-61xwCrk4vco/UY9rv6OoGTI/AAAAAAAADe4/VMFwYrnz1bQ/s640/P5120023.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">The adult cats are fast when there's good kibble around. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1amSipJWcfg/UY9rx_9bDkI/AAAAAAAADfA/NW3r-wczQ80/s1600/P5120027.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1amSipJWcfg/UY9rx_9bDkI/AAAAAAAADfA/NW3r-wczQ80/s640/P5120027.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Proof that the task is unending. Whilst Rebecca spent time trying to get close to the blue eyed kittens I discovered these barely standing kittens in some shaded area... they belong to the tortoise colored cat in the above image (to the left). </span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xP8UUFgFCyM/UY9ryxvnmKI/AAAAAAAADfI/b63UjIzAjC8/s1600/P5120034.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xP8UUFgFCyM/UY9ryxvnmKI/AAAAAAAADfI/b63UjIzAjC8/s640/P5120034.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">The adorable blue eyed kittens having at last gotten hold of some of the good kitten kibble (meant for them of course!).</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jxqJenIUtoE/UY9r4dqVw5I/AAAAAAAADfc/64qW-bp3cFU/s1600/P5120042.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jxqJenIUtoE/UY9r4dqVw5I/AAAAAAAADfc/64qW-bp3cFU/s640/P5120042.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">And it appears that it went down very well... licking their mouthes in stereo. </span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fmX1oVBkwj4/UY9r4lO_wmI/AAAAAAAADfY/p8G0lIC_F9M/s1600/P5120043.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fmX1oVBkwj4/UY9r4lO_wmI/AAAAAAAADfY/p8G0lIC_F9M/s640/P5120043.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">We will keep you posted about these little guys... So difficult because of the obvious attraction to the pretty one, but who wouldn't also want to rescue the other more poorly looking one?! And yes, what about those little black and white kitties?? Fortunately we have been informed that all of these cats are fed by an elderly gent twice every day, so they are not suffering. But that doesn't mean that you would want for them all to sleep on a soft bed!!</span></div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">So April came and went - first time since i started my blog that I've gone an entire month without posting. Due to a spell of bad health and my body crying for my attention. Was hospitalised for a few days and recovering for many more. Still taking it easy and quietly enjoying all the furry healers around. Whilst I was recovering I spent many days in a comfy armchair with my feet up. And each day I was literally plastered with willing healers - it was as if they were fighting for space around me and it truly made me smile. They're giving back!</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-j9SvoxA-7JM/UYEj0wh5JnI/AAAAAAAADbk/U1lMfemaC4U/s1600/fey.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-j9SvoxA-7JM/UYEj0wh5JnI/AAAAAAAADbk/U1lMfemaC4U/s640/fey.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">One day I observed Rufus and Fey kitchen window gazing and I just had to capture their lovely profiles and the Greek blue sky reflected in their eyes.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-25MkyYfF-a0/UYEkAcCRG5I/AAAAAAAADbs/j6m7T_H4eq4/s1600/ruf&fey.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-25MkyYfF-a0/UYEkAcCRG5I/AAAAAAAADbs/j6m7T_H4eq4/s640/ruf&fey.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">At the moment things are balancing out around here. We've reached a total of 35 cats some months back, and we simply can't house more. It would lessen the quality of life of the ones rescued already if we took on more. And it's a huge challenge... there's always a cat in need around here and in a few weeks from now there will be little "toffees" (aka tiny kittens) to be found everywhere. One of the dumpster cats we feed have just given birth about four weeks ago - and we know where she will bring her little ones to search for food! Yes, oh dear!!</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Did you catch Fey's darling profile under Rufus' chin?! She's quite a shy cat so she feels safe in Rufus' confident company. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I hope you are all well... thanks so much for stopping by.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="color: #666666;">Remember the story of Gracie - </span><a href="http://godslittlepeople.blogspot.de/2012/12/amazing-gracie.html"><span style="color: lime;">the blind cat</span></a><span style="color: #666666;">. It's taken forever to get Gracie used to being indoors, especially with the door closed. But recently Gracie decided that it was safe so she spent some days just getting the outlay of the room inside the front door and now she has practically moved in. She is now so much as ease that she actually plays. Just watch her having a ball (with a bell ball)!! She went for the sound and felt her way to the ball whenever she was close to the sound - and I swear she was giggling...</span></span></div>

<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IFLMEyOcRz0/UTyB4rfxlDI/AAAAAAAADZE/MQ706bcT7pM/s1600/Benji+blooms.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IFLMEyOcRz0/UTyB4rfxlDI/AAAAAAAADZE/MQ706bcT7pM/s640/Benji+blooms.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Okay, so he has been the centre of attention all week but when you've been to the vet twice in the same week - and been under full anaesthesia, well then a bit (bundles and bundles) of undivided attention goes along way to a quick healing!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Today I went for a walk with my camera to try and catch a few of the pretty spring flowers we've got around at the moment and Benji made it perfectly clear that there were no spring flower prettier than him!!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">It's been a busy week with Benji and a lot of injured paws (bite wounds to treat), eye infections and dermatitis (sometimes it just all comes in one go) but it's also been a lovely week because there has been a great sense of support from YOU dear friends. Thank you for placing bids on the auction, buying my art, writing a sweet comment, liking our new Facebook page and your kind emails... it's just so unbelievably lovely to feel all your lovely support. For those of you on Facebook we would love it if you want to give a "like"to Saints & Apostles - the name of my creative label (you can read more about the name on Facebook - not as holy as it sounds!). I feature all my creative work there, and as you know by now, all the proceeds goes towards the care of the cats. The "like" button is just to the right on this page (as is the link to my Etsy shop). </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">This week I received an email from a dear friend in the US asking if there's anything we need for the cats. And I thought to share it here... our little wish list. And it's simple really. Worm tablets (Milbemax, because they don't taste like something the cats won't eat) and flea treatment (Frontline). Because each cat really ought to have the treatment each month it very quickly becomes too overwhelming for us financially (everything is covered entirely from our private funds). We have a minimum expense each month of $550 (does not include giving all cats flea and worm treatment). It covers a basic quality food, an ongoing supply of antibiotics and ointments - and a few superficial vet treatments. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">On a bigger scale we would love to have fancy cat beds, a store of toys and treats and not least proper shelters for our outdoor cats... but we get by with cardboard boxes and an increasing number of fleece blankets. We get a new fleece blanket free each time we've saved x number of points in our supermarket, but we're always short on laundry days. But overall the cats are happy. We might not be running an aesthetically fancy cat haven but it is overflowing with love, healing and compassion. And it obviously goes a lot further than aesthetics. Anyhow... if anyone would like to contribute with any items, please drop me an email (my email address can be found under my profile) and I'll send you our postal address. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Two days ago Benji finally had his teeth fixed. He was not amused going to the vet twice in one week!! He was lucky though to only have one tooth pulled out - the rest was just cleaned. But this visit to the "dentist" apparently spared him having them all pulled out in a year from now! This can all be traced back to Benji's first five months of living. He was a young dumpster cat living off whatever he could find in the dumpster and some cereal cat food someone left from time to time (cereal food for a cat will not make a healthy cat). </span></div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I first noticed Benji around Christmas 2010. Shortly after we'd moved to Greece. I hadn't yet embraced this (seemingly) destined part of my journey but he was pulling my heart strings something terrible. He was just a kitten but looking older because he had to fight the bigger cats. He was very shy but when I quietly approached him he gave in and purred like mad and became super affectionate. </span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gY5leghYVI0/UTsRSu1FgUI/AAAAAAAADX0/0nxE9pvQDFI/s1600/juju1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gY5leghYVI0/UTsRSu1FgUI/AAAAAAAADX0/0nxE9pvQDFI/s640/juju1.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="color: #666666;">This is not the usual dumpster where I feed cats and I had to travel in another direction to see Benji. The green dumpster you can see here is actually placed on the road - and this is where he lived. Under the dumpster. Well, the rest is history. You're probably familiar with his rescue story by now. Otherwise </span><span style="color: #a64d79;"><a href="http://godslittlepeople.blogspot.de/2011/03/story-of-benji.html">you can read it here</a>.</span></span><span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"> One awfully rainy day I happened to walk past and he sat terribly ill and with bite wounds everywhere... There was obviously a reason for why I <i>happened</i> to walk past this day. I could see he wasn't gonna survive this life anymore so my mind was instantly made up. Off to the vet to have his flu and bite wounds treated. </span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-j5coGzjBstk/UTsJ0RyjfNI/AAAAAAAADXc/D2cjEoEHB44/s1600/benju.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-j5coGzjBstk/UTsJ0RyjfNI/AAAAAAAADXc/D2cjEoEHB44/s640/benju.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Today I can't believe this gentle giant started his life like that. He is without a doubt the most gentle of all 35 cats and he is so kind to kittens or apprehensive kitties. He is super popular with all cats here and everyone loves to snuggle up with him because he always willingly gives a major clean to whoever happens to be wrapped up in his kind paws. </span><br />
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">He deserves the best treatment. So for now Benji is just snuggled up on the sofa for a few days whilst he quietly recovers from a stress-full week </span></div>

</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-z8ka5cZ6fkc/UTem4Io1dAI/AAAAAAAADWA/1VtbtPB8XJo/s1600/P2201814.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-z8ka5cZ6fkc/UTem4Io1dAI/AAAAAAAADWA/1VtbtPB8XJo/s640/P2201814.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I took this little photo sequence of Rosie sleeping because Rosie doesn't just sleep when she sleeps... for her it's a sleep fest!! A peaceful celebration of warmth, softness, comfort, fuzziness, contentment, a full tummy... something that altogether reminds me so much of going to sleep as a child with a smile on my lip. Rosie just simply rolls over in the most amazingly chilled poses and once in a while she half wakes up and quietly plays with the fairies playing around her paws (yes, there must be some - I swear she giggles when she plays with her paws!). </span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pWlPwep7_hs/UTeoNyEOw4I/AAAAAAAADWE/JwBGTKkBJVY/s1600/P2201808.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pWlPwep7_hs/UTeoNyEOw4I/AAAAAAAADWE/JwBGTKkBJVY/s640/P2201808.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Well, maybe there's two sides to Rosie (or she just defends her private life like a true warrior) but she becomes very feisty when she is outdoor. If someone is in her way she will just walk up close and buckle her head a la "You want a piece of me?!?" and "I'll give you a chance to think about it again!" Most cats wisely trots off. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--ed3TmkJkK0/UTelq8fL7dI/AAAAAAAADV0/63y4MhdcNAA/s1600/P2201820.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--ed3TmkJkK0/UTelq8fL7dI/AAAAAAAADV0/63y4MhdcNAA/s640/P2201820.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">But as I mentioned in my last post, we have a handful of males on heat around at the moment and they don't budge. But neither does Rosie. That unfortunately landed Rosie in a <i>major </i>fight over the weekend. I heard and stopped the ferocious fight Saturday night, but couldn't see which cats it involved. But I assume a very large male which has been an absolute pest around here recently. He fights everyone - boys and girls alike. Rosie normally comes in at night, but Rebecca found her Sunday morning in a box where she wouldn't normally sleep. When she hadn't moved by Saturday afternoon Rebecca gathered something was up and had me come check on her. Rosie actually couldn't move! I had to pull her out of the box to see what was up and she was in great pain, chock and seemed as if she couldn't walk on her hind leg. When I picked her up to carry her indoor she screamed in pain. But I managed to put her in a quiet place where she slept for the rest of day. Monday morning we were immediately off to the vet. I honestly worried Rosie had broken some bones. But to my great relief she'd "only" suffered a large hematoma on the inside of one hind leg and a big infected bite wound on the other. Rosie slept through the second day as well and only began to regain a bit of appetite after she had some painkiller. It was evident that the shock had been very overwhelming for her. Maybe it will have taught Rosie to just be a little bit more careful in trying to tackle each and everyone. This is a fight she surely could have done without. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lp0E_4agrNY/UTelsDeXSUI/AAAAAAAADV4/EHKzeMlWwng/s1600/P2201821.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lp0E_4agrNY/UTelsDeXSUI/AAAAAAAADV4/EHKzeMlWwng/s640/P2201821.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">But Rosie is now gently back on her legs again, still resting a lot but the inevitable antibiotic treatment has helped her a great deal already.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="color: #666666;">We're more keen than ever to get all the boys fixed to stop the inevitable fighting, which brings me to the news that I have now listed my original water-color miniature paintings in </span><span style="color: #e06666;"><a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/SaintsandApostles">my Etsy shop</a>.</span><span style="color: #666666;"> As it is with all my artwork, ALL proceeds goes towards the care of the cats. <div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="color: #666666;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="color: #666666;">Also remember we still have<a href="http://godslittlepeople.blogspot.de/2013/02/a-sweet-sentiment-from-italian-alps.html"> </a></span><span style="color: #6fa8dc;"><a href="http://godslittlepeople.blogspot.de/2013/02/a-sweet-sentiment-from-italian-alps.html"><span style="color: #6fa8dc;">a little auction</span></a> </span><span style="color: #666666;">on the go.</span></span></div>

</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6IA--6Agn_c/UTHvigWvO7I/AAAAAAAADTU/Ke2eByVrIvI/s1600/Ben.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6IA--6Agn_c/UTHvigWvO7I/AAAAAAAADTU/Ke2eByVrIvI/s640/Ben.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Benji is being a jolly good sport playing up the eucalyptus tree in spite of having a bad toothache. He's lost weight and it was only a few day ago that I discovered that he'd actually almost stopped eating his kibble. I thought he had a bad stomach virus but yesterday I discovered the reason why. He's got a rotten tooth! He's going in for dental treatment on Monday.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">So was our beautiful Skipper - just look at her darling naked little belly. She's taken to eating thistles as in this image. They're seriously prickly to human hands but there must be something in its juice that's good for her tummy. She just ate the top of this thistle you can see in the front of the image... She doesn't like the prickly feeling in her paws but her tongue doesn't mind!?!! </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Spring time is moving in on us and pretty spring flowers are beginning to appear everywhere. Alongside the spring feeling in the air is a lot of free flowing kitty hormones and the accompanying noise! We live in a little valley where there's a remarkable echo so the sound travels undisrupted... just imagine the joys!! (ahem ahem...). We are trying to gather our pennies to have our last three boys fixed but this time around the girls had to be our priority. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Biscuit is our youngest and littlest boy - we hope it will be a while before he gets intoxicated by the girls. He is still my little baby and for now he just loves his mum!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Faces of the many little friends you haven't even been introduced to are enjoying life here and making the ever growing weeds in the garden looking so much prettier... this tortie girl is named Brownie and is the only cat that was actually born here, whilst we've been living here. </span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YhyM-S81I6I/UTIZ8C3YHAI/AAAAAAAADVE/pmuUHUI7mok/s1600/P1271672.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YhyM-S81I6I/UTIZ8C3YHAI/AAAAAAAADVE/pmuUHUI7mok/s640/P1271672.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Her kitty mum Lucky (Lucky because she contracted and survived the deadly virus we had last year) was scheduled for neutering the day after Easter last year, but to my very great surprise, she taught me the lesson that a cat can be very pregnant even without you being able to notice!</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Ninja - my very first Greek rescue (alongside Tiny) is always up for some wild games in the garden with his many new friends. He is very good natured and big-brotherly and I love the special connection I have with him and Tiny. It's where it all began really.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-iXmBE7T01e4/UTILkczoBNI/AAAAAAAADUM/dxLMNfMgk-M/s1600/P1271685.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-iXmBE7T01e4/UTILkczoBNI/AAAAAAAADUM/dxLMNfMgk-M/s640/P1271685.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Reed is a beautiful grey and white girl who came down from the mountains and settled here more than 1 1/2 years ago. She was a feral and extremely skinny back then (hence the name) and she now suffers a chronic respiratory condition due to an untreated infection when she was younger. She has a good life here (putting all the younger cats in their place) but depends on regular steroid/antibiotic shots to keep her respiratory condition under control. She has great breathing difficulties but leads a quiet and beautiful life here. Sometimes she gets carried away and romp with the younger guys... then she needs to sit down and catch her breath afterwards. Her favourite thing is to find a quiet spot when its sunny, where she can roll over and get her lungs warmed up. </span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-T5G4xTbVF8Q/UTHoFKn44TI/AAAAAAAADSc/i0z5k0zhgAQ/s1600/Snowy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-T5G4xTbVF8Q/UTHoFKn44TI/AAAAAAAADSc/i0z5k0zhgAQ/s640/Snowy.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Snowy has found a good balance in life. If you remember, he has also got a chronic respiratory condition with some damage to his lungs (just like Reed, but they struggle in different ways). He spent five months last year where he pretty much sat in isolation. Any play time would work him up in a way that would set him off in a bad way and I even had to limit his access to toys. It was a very difficult and worrying time. But it appears Snowy's lung capacity has grown with him growing (as the vet told us he possibly might) and he's also got a good quality of life where he can now be out and about playing with his many friends. He is cheeky and charming (and naughty!) and takes everyone by storm. He is a VERY beautiful cat. He relies on daily antibiotics. </span></div>
<br />

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I'm trying to get my act together to get all my latest art listed in my Etsy shop - ALL proceeds as always going towards the cats.</span></div>

<br />

<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Becky being charmed by Rufus - he's got a way with the ladies! Becky and I have already had many adventures together... as an example rescuing the life of a cat that was being killed by guard dogs. Becky heroically jumped the fence and together we maneuvered the cat to safety. We work very compatibly - no words needing to be spoken. This comes in very handy when you're trying to rescue a cat. We work very much on the principles of love, healing, stillness, compassion, understanding... qualities that make both cats and humans prosper.</span></div>

<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Another little creative sneak peek... "Ethel the Pirates Daughter." A little creation made from olive twigs, fabric remnants and vintage bits. She is part of little collection of five "Twiglets" - each comes with their own story and 'certificate of authenticity'. They will also be listed in my Etsy shop next week. I will write a little post here when they're listed. </span></div>
