"I think I could turn and live with the animals"

h

"I think I could turn and live with the animals,
They are so placid and self-contained,
I stare and look at them long and long.
e
They do not sweat and whine about their condion,
They do not lie awake in the dark and weep for their sins,
They do not make me sick discussing their duty to God,
Not one dissatisfied, not one is demented with the mania of owning things,
Not one kneels to another, nor to his kind that lived thousands of years ago,
Not one is respectable or unhappy over the whole earth."

Walt Whitman from Song of Myself

So spot on! Perhaps God put animals here in the first place as an exampleship to humans!? So that in our planetary parts we can be true to our nature and function, whilst we - in other parts - have the freedom of choice..? :-)
Yes, it is almost as if animals have been put here as an exampleship for humans. Sometimes I can marvel at the industrious nature of a bird who works all day long for their survival in nature. What an inspiration!

They have way more sense than most of us. I am always amazed at the fact that animals do not worry, nor fret, nor work hard unless in willful obedience to their loved ones. Hum, maybe we could learn if we would observe them more.

Hi Chill, you're so right - they do seem to have more sense than us. For sure we would learn a lot if we did nothing but observe them!!
Hi Womanwisdom, thanks for your kind words and thank you for visiting and following. I agree, God is very good to have given us the little people. They offer such tremendous company to us humans in so many ways. They truly are a gift!

Love, love, love this specific post as it resonates with one's soul in a profound way. I really do prefer the company of our furry friends to some humans. I'm lovin' the cute donkey pic(I adore donkeys, dogs, cats etc.)

A animal-loving naturalist:)
